Pet Grooming & HVAC
Why are pet grooming & HVAC so important? This is an example of why it’s not a good idea to wash, groom, or trim your pets hair near your air conditioner! We had a recent service call for a “no cool.” This was what our service technician found upon arrival. Apparently the home owner had been washing and grooming his dog frequently with the garden hose right near the outside condenser.

With some effort from our technician he was able to get the unit cleaned up. Later, he had it back up and running properly . The unit was starving for air flow due to all the thickly matted animal hair. Nevertheless, this is why you should never perform animal grooming near your condenser. Just a little friendly bit of advise from Eze Air Solutions Inc.
Animal hair can easily get sucked into the condenser coils and block airflow. Because of this, blocked coils force your system to overwork and overheat. Overheating leads to high energy use and possible long-term damage. Even small clumps of hair can reduce your AC’s performance.
Always keep the area around your unit clean and clear. Trim bushes, move pet stations, and never wash animals nearby. If hair gets inside the unit, call a professional to clean it properly. Preventing this kind of buildup saves money and protects your system’s lifespan. We’re always happy to help keep your home cool and your pets safe!
